for Faith-based Organizations

About Us

Community Impact Institute (CII) is a nonprofit training and technical assistance program offered by PLF that seeks for faith-based organizations to achieve increased viability, fundability, accountability and sustainability for their social serving missions.

To accomplish this, CII offers step-by-step “how-to” training and individual technical assistance in nonprofit organizational and resource development and program best practices.  Led by a renowned national team of capacity building experts, CII promotes nonprofit excellence that results in increased community impact!

Program Overview

InstructionCII offers a 30-hour curriculum-driven training institute focused on excellence in nonprofit practice.  Participants are offered 8-weeks of ‘how-to” instruction in organizational and program development.Topics covered include strategic planning, board development, establishing a 501C3, nonprofit finance and financial management, proposal writing, fundraising via annual appeal, marketing and communications, performance management and program evaluation.

CII offers its on-the-ground training program to congregations located in the 5-county Philadelphia region. We also offer nonprofit training to our national networks through online web conferences. Following the training, participants may receive individual or small working group technical assistance based on their organizational capacity-building plans.

Special workshops and technical assistance will be also offered on how to establish an effective ministry to individuals and families affected by incarceration (aka Healing Communities / Stations of Hope).
